When I was working three years ago as a Comcast contractor and the news of Net Neutrality
came up in the middle of a chatroom from co-workers that have mention the news about it and I decided to read up about what’s the noise about Net Neutrality, I continue to read up about it I know it was something I couldn’t just ignore so I read about it while I was working that day. While I was in the middle of my shift I was convinced the the regulation behind Net Neutrality. (through the time I remember I was getting calls and customer complains three times about day) I was a customer service technician, I wasn’t able to handle any billing for anyone and if customers complain I had to transfer them to a different department.
three years later….
We are dealing with Net Neutrality of an issue that doesn’t needs any fixing. When I was with Comcast I read a lot about how ISP’s were throttling data at the time I was a wild wild west for Comcast and I know if you let your ISP’s unleashed and unmaintain, ISP’s can do anything to discriminate data and can have an effect on privacy as well. when the news came up many weeks ago. I was really disappointed of President Trump new pick for FCC Chairman Ajit Pai. With many thing that I was said Pai of how he wanted take a weed wacker over Net Neutrality, which this case What I can see is that he’s doing is a very poor job, I don’t think he understands about Net Neutrality……Don’t get me wrong I know he is a very smart man but playing dumb with arguments on removing it I quote from a interview from Reason. ”Internet Service Provider won’t not willy nilly blocking traffic” . With Ajit Pai as a former Verizon Lawyer it’ll only benefit him but won’t do any good to help the public interest, Another argument that he mentioned with ReasonTV.com is that he doesn’t wanted any government over-regulation law of the internet. THAT’S MY ISSUE here! The government is not over regulating the internet! The laws and principles has to be place, ISP’s can be unleashed and have monopoly rights with no competition.
When Net Neutrality was in place back in 2015 there was a reason on why we needed it in the first place, when I had worked in Comcast at the times I knew they where screwing customers left and right there was no surprise as of why I seen what they’ve done. When FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler was on aboard back during the Obama-era, He did the right thing to keep Net Neutrality in place and keep the data equal without discrimination, Tom Wheeler a Democratic appointee of Obama at the time, I didn’t think I trust Tom would have done the right thing but I am glad he wasn’t pandering to cable lobbist but kept the laws in place because he listen to the people not the money.
