Apple slows down older iPhones

I’m a little bit late writing about the Apple slowdown hype, but I still wanted to give you my thoughts before too much time goes by.
For someone that has owned an iPhone 3GS and 5S in the past, I can confirm that I am NOT an Apple fanboy by any means. I definitely wouldn’t stand outside or EVER camp outside an Apple store waiting to be the first to get a new product in hand. After using the 5S for about 3 years I was like “nope, I’ve had enough!” The Apple economy was pretty closed, so that’s one of the reasons I returned back to Android in the first place.
Two months ago CNET reported that Apple had released an update that slows down older iPhone models. It came to me as no surprise, and pretty much BS on Apple. The reason we update software on our devices is to provide fixes for bugs, enhance security and often times add efficient new phone features. The thing is, it’s true that iPhones are time-tested and widely accepted technology by many, but that doesn’t mean much when your iPhone shuts down automatically around 30% of its battery charge.
The advice to everyone with iPhones is to make sure to manually update the phones instead of doing it automatically. The newest Apple updates that were released for older phones just slow down the software. So in effect, the Apple update ADDS inefficiency, pushes frustrated customers away from phones (purchased in some cases only one year prior) and smugly suck even more Apple profits from their wallets when they opt to buy into a newer iPhone. Insanity, especially when we’re looking at phones purchased a year ago. In fact, I’m not a fan of the new iPhone X. It just looks too big and expensive! I’d never pay $1000 out-of-pocket for the X. Hell, it’s really no big surprise that even loyal “Apple campers” are pretty upset with Apple’s new decisions.
At some point, who can blame anyone burned by Apple from considering, if not actually switching to Google’s Android or another platform with an open source OS everyone can use?

Physical Vs Digital

Here we are in 2012, Today we got all this new advance technology that it is now going to start replacing paper. some people don’t like that everything is going digital and some of them would like to go digital because electronics saves the environment which I understand it does,  but the fact is that you got everything that’s going to be digital and nothing is going to change that, Physical copies are still going to be around for a couple of years to come but later I know that physicals copies like Books, DVD’s Music and other media that I haven’t listed  are soon going to be or are already in digital format or already on-Demand format (or streaming format on if that what you call it now and days), Things are changing rapidly and I know that because I use it all the time now since it’s something that I doing right now for my own convenience heck I’m listening to Dream Theater on Grooveshark that I can listen to it streaming on the website, but does that mean I’m pirating?  No! it simply means I listen to it without purchasing it But does that mean that I’m not supporting the artist? Of course not! I am supporting the artist!  What I like about streaming a song is that I like to listen to the whole album before purchasing it besides I don’t want to purchase an album that’s not good from them even dough the artist worked hard on making this piece of work they done.  Another way you can support your artist is go to their shows on where their going to be performing at in your city near you or a place they’re going to playing live.  Heck I’ve been to now about five rock concerts in the past, Last one I been to was last week on Friday I was seeing Styx live in Miami and before that I went to see Dream Theater last year in Atlanta and both of them are amazing to see live plus they make allot of money while touring around the world not just for Digital and Physical purchase.

some how this is what leaves physical formats a disadvantage most of the time you can’t preview a Music, Movies and Books. (Expect for video games I know demo games gives you plenty of time to give you the idea how the game is going to be played on the consoles).

I know another disadvantage that doesn’t have on a physical copy for instinct a book! If you want to read something at night but don’t want to turn the lamp on  you’ll have to get a portable night light to read which is something that I have at home that I used allot when reading physical copy.  But with the tablet it always light up with any tablet that you use, Apple, Android, Amazon, B&N Nook or what you are using,  A tablet I can bring a good example is the Amazon Kindle,  it’s only purpose it does is e-books since it’s very popular in the  market now for readers that travel everywhere I find that it helps allot,  If you’re the kind that like fill 1,500 Thur 4,100 titles that’s up to you.  Barnes and Nobles is still going to be around for a long time the way I see it.

Like I said about Music Industry before its having a hard time right now,  but I can still music having a future if music can be everywhere, I can imagine music stores being a big demand for music down loaders and anyone that was out of there houses and hang out in the malls or to the park or what ever it is you want to go,  unfortunately allot of people see that as a dying industry, I remember a time when I was little…I think it was about 10 or 13 years ago, I remember going to a mall allot and remember seeing people coming in and out of stores buying CD’s allot and one of the stores I remember that sell music at the time was Sam’s Goody’s back when I was living in Florida, that was very big at the time in the 90s,  which I remember it was a big store back then, I remember another store call sun coast I remember it so well when it was in every mall it was cool that had allot of videos and DVD’s in store Self’s of course Media-Play had something like that was as well. 🙂  and last time I heard Fye’s bought them.  Today’s Media store aren’t as good as it was back then, due to download and privacy.  (So If you plan to a musician…well Good Luck on your success because it’s not easy as it was before).

Today, We see a change in the times,  You know it’s a different world on what we see today then back then.  It’s like history the Roman Empire rose when it was biggest empire and then fell it’s knees, that’s how I see what the industry is an all out war, The online world vs the Nationwide Media store.  Way the world is there’s a balance to everything, one wants to physical and the other wants digital and it’s hard to who’s going to overcome. other way I see is that people only want one thing and one thing alone, Truth is you can’t make people switch to digital, most aren’t going to switch over night that not going to happen like that.  When you  hear a new device…for instinct the new Ipad 3 or HD what ever you want to call it, Is a very expensive that I don’t see many that is going to pay for it in the first day of launch, not many people are going to for a tablet in the first days of launch,  then after launch then tech critics are going to see problems to the devices pointing that rear view sucks or maybe the frame rate is slow and whatsoever.  The Many of the consumers are apples fans that are willing to pay high dollar for the price.  it’s only low percent of the apple user that are going to purchasing a Ipad 3 no dough,  Not that I’m saying it’s wrong to have a device like Ipad 3, I think there a great tablet to have,  some how I rather wait till the price goes down or apple announces the next Ipad that has less problems, I do know very well when purchasing a electronic that has a e-book feature and want to get it but can’t tell if that suit you…well it’s about research one most of the time it has to be you that needs to know if your going to getting it to make life as easy as possible to rid of the clutter of having so many books in your self…I can understand why.

The Future of PC’s: How is it with today’s Technology?

With platforms that’s coming making things really easy like new devices like net books and tablet making it easier to take around with them I know people nowadays want comfort over quality with devices hitting the market really in the market these days, they don’t need to tweak or mess over with the motherboard, sound card, video card and etc on goes in a computer.  I know they’re some people that are making custom made computers but I know it does require some technical detail which isn’t a big deal since you can learn that off the internet anyway which it takes a while I know you learn it very quick, you’ll just need to learn the basic anatomy  of what’s inside of a computer,  I know it’s not a big deal.   I done it before with my computer, since I been looking allot of step-by-step instructions.  You don’t have to necessarily pay for classes to have someone to teach you basic anatomy when you got the internet help you out, But does that mean you don’t need to pay for classes?…It helps If you have the funds to pay any technical college.  But all this right there is nothing but elementary,  I think a fifth grader can do this anyway if he/she wanted to.  The only question is if he/she has the money for parts and the requirements build one?!  Projects like these are costly and you’re going to need a lot of money for…

  • Tower Case
  • Video Card
  • Disk Drive
  • Mother card (AMD or Intel)
  • a fan or liquid cooling (Optional)
  • RAM
  • Power Supply
  • And a Operating System of your choice (Windows or Linux…Don’t know about Mac OS’s for sure)

I might be missing something in the list?  I feel did missed something, but I have to look back.  But you’ll get the  idea. All you need to do the is your research on your own.  Building own custom made computer maybe easy some but word of warning the parts will cause you around $600-$2,100 or little bit higher than depending on the cost of the parts.

But back on the subject with PC’s I think your going to some people buying a new PC, but I don’t know if a lot of people are going to purchase one with how the economy is today.  People do want to get out with something that they can enjoy with the palm of there hands instead of being home all day in front of the computer,  You got allot handheld which most of them provides WI/FI like Apple and Android tablets/phone.   So it really comes down to your technical needs  What do you prefer? that is the question.

Tablets VS Laptops

There’s so many choices nowadays, now it hard to choose from device or another, me I would like to grab my hands on both, If I had the money on both a tablet and a laptop.  Your main Tablets are Apple’s Ipad running on an IOS software and Android that allot of manufacturer support android.  The other corner you have Laptops from different shapes and sizes from many manufacturers.  Here’s Question, since the Tablets came out not to long ago what do you think is better Tablets or Laptops?  I don’t think one is better than the other to me it’s all a matter of preferences and what you think better suits you! The first corner we have the tablets I know with tablets its easy and light on your hands and can be carried on a purse or a traveling bag and one of those tablet brings tons of apps for you to download and install for example if you were to get a Apple Tablet and it has to be your first time getting your in luck since it has 300,000+ plus apps in the store, the app store has been around since 2007 (or 2006 if I’m mistaken) But the only problem is that if you stick with IOS tablet, Your  going to limited what apps you can publish for anyone that’s a developer out there’s there’s current rules you have to follow if your not aware, if you’re more likely to break them you can get bam from apple development or remove from the apple store.  I know with Android, it gives you choices on apps you wanted published and its a open market.

The two devices are different from each other,  I know its hard to compare,  when it devices like laptop they’re  different! The laptops are portable plus its a PC that you can carry around with you.  That’s the thing about it I like that you can carry your personal work, Music that your like to listen on the go, Videos that keeps you entertain or just play a PC game on flight.  That’s what I like about laptops in the first place, is you can take with ease.  The laptops has been around a few years that now I see tablets that’s out in the market for two years now, Does that mean it’s going to kill the laptops in anyway…No! It’s not any chances all about about comfort and preference on what feels right for the users, in the end it comes to choices for anyone make even, if makes it a hard time for people to choose.
My option, The laptop has a good advantage staying in the market,  it’s not going anywhere,  Since people out there can still afford it Laptops and market out for Tablets still expensive and not everybody is not going to jump right away in buying a Tablet, there’s just no way!
Recently I been hearing about the Utlrabooks that’s they’re now on the works it’s going to make it more easier to carry, but when it comes to new products it’s still going to be expensive during its debut, later your going to drop around the Christmas season. In my point of view with my concern with tablets,  it’s still in it’s early stages since It doesn’t do everything what the laptops does, maybe a few years down the road it can improve and can give me different view later what I think right now.  I can see it beginning a good tool for us to use for business and productivity, But I myself wouldn’t mind using it…now Ipad 3 that going to be released soon as of March I know right off that there going to start releasing more update few months later the Ipad 2 comes, with CES started today I would to see other invented products that there coming.  I’m looking forward what’s beyond the future of tech.

R.I.P Steve Jobs :((

Just finding out yesterday 6 hours ago, that Steve Jobs just died from pancreatic cancer,  I wasn’t expecting this at all, Just when my Brother was just telling me that Steve Job just died after he found out somewhere on the net that he was reading it online.  I can’t believe this happened, it was very unexpected I know every don’t know this was going to happen at a young age of 56 and shortly live.  I was tragic evening yesterday, I know I’m a little behind I’m going to doing before heading to sleep.  I can’t believe it sense now remembering him,  I feel like going to an Apple Store and buy me new Iphone 4GS or Mac Book Pro till the holiday season since I can’t afford right away.  I’ll do it as a tribute for the man that impacted the computer world.  I know I’m a PC fan, I love the Gates but it’ll be a nice change to go for something new.

He was my big influences included my top list of tech influences.  The way it felt about his death appeared I felt, He knew that he knew that he wasn’t going to last to long and finding out back in 2005 that he announced that he had cancer he knew that he wasn’t going to live to long.  I;m glad that Apples was best thing that he has done to envision technology with the coolest line up of products.  But I have to say Apple is going to survive without him and I know that his legacy will live on.  I know that his fan will miss him too.  I remember my first mac was Imac when I was a kid in elementary it had a cool looking screen But the mouse had a hockey pock look. 🙂 I felt for the first time it was wired using it (laughting). But I like it because it was interestingly cool,  One day I”m going to be switching to a MAC DESKTOP teach my kids about the tech world telling them The man that created Apple.

For that I’m remembering the one that inspired me

Thank You
Steve Jobs!
